About Us

The mission of the Professional Business Women’s Association (PBWA) is to promote and support the professional advancement of our members, cultivate fellowship and friendship within the association and promote new membership.  The PBWA is a non-profit organization promoting our goals through networking, education, mentoring and giving back to the community.

Membership is open to businesswomen in York County, or those with business interests in York County. See our Join page for more information on how to join.

The PBWA started in the fall of 1989 as a small group of business women meeting over lunch to network and catch up on what was happening in their businesses.  In January 1991, the group affiliated with the Fort Mill Chamber of Commerce and became part of the York County Regional Chamber in January 2000.  In January 2011, the PBWA moved out from under the wings of the Chamber and became a self standing organization with the continued mission to support women in business.
